Heated Tents

Heated tents are a great way to increase your entertainment space for holiday events, super bowl parties and beat the winter blues parties.

Frame tents offer consumers the ability to take an unused patio or deck and turn it into a heated entertainment area perfect for additional seating for holiday meals, buffet & beverage area, cocktail area or just additional space for the kids to play.

Before you begin planning to use your deck or patio you will need to keep in mind the following:

  • All snow, ice and all furniture must be removed for the installation area prior to our arrival.  A path leading to your deck or patio must also be cleared of snow and ice.
  • A minimum temperature of 40 degrees must be maintained under the tent at all times from time of installation until removal by our crew.
  • You will need to know where power is available for the heater(s) as well as any necessary lighting will be coming from.  The power will need to be on its own 20 amp circuit(s) and must be within 50’ of the tent.

Remember, a tent is not a permanent structure and cannot be sealed up completely.

Our L.B. White propane heaters are vented through the sidewall of the tent.  The actual heater unit and the propane tank sit directly outside the tent.  A thermostat is installed inside the tent on a side pole for easy temperature adjustment.  The thermostat on the heaters works the same as you house thermostat, set the temperature and the heater will run until the temperature under the tent  reaches your desired temperature and will restart when the temperature falls.

We carry 80,000 and 170,000 BTU heaters and 100 lb fuel tanks.  An 80,000 BTU heater will run approximately 24 hours on one 100 lb. fuel tank and the 170,000 BTU heaters will run approximately 12 hours on one 100 lb. fuel tank.  Big Tent Events does not allow mushroom style patio heaters or kerosene heaters to be used under our tents as the can easily damage the tent top or sidewall.  We also discourage the use of infrared heaters as well as they can easily damage sidewall.
